The Leasing Agent   As the leasing agent for Spaces Apartments I am more than a voice on the phone or a face at the desk.  I am the first person everyone meets.  We believe in great first impressions which is why my desk is right in front to greet, chat with, and help everyone.  My every day is filled with random acts of kindness and spontaneous surprises because leasing is more than simply showing an apartment to a future resident.  I am here to help make you feel at home and happy to live here.  For future residents I show the type of community we have to offer them.  From being able to walk to events in our neighborhood to making smore’s at our fire pit with friends.  For out of town guests I suggest restaurants nearby because as a resident of Spaces I want them to know what type of lifestyle they can have living here. Creating a rapport with the residents, even those from our sister properties is important.  Residents are always welcome to sit down and chat.  I enjoy hearing what’s going on in their lives.  After all, we are part of the package of living at Spaces.

What's for Lunch-image

For those of you who may be new to the area, or even if you aren’t, we have a ton of new restaurants to choose from.  One of my loves is FOOD and trying new places with fun new ingredients and flavors that are unique and exciting.  Up the street on Leavenworth is a gem, Mother India.  From the outside you will see it’s stucco exterior and bright yellow paint that is starting to peel away. But what you don’t see is the magic of flavor working on the inside.  You’re scared, haven’t ever tried Indian Food before?  That’s ok!  I recommend starting your research with milder flavors and working from there. I recommend starting off with a simple chicken dish, Chicken Tikki.  Yes, it is red, bright red and delicious.  With mild red curry blend and spices, this chicken is tender and comfortable for the new comer.  But there is way more to experience.   A few of my favorites?  Lamb Vindaloo and Paneer Kofta.  Both offer a velvety sauce that melts in your mouth.  Served with Jasmine rice, it will stick to your ribs.  Take a friend, experience culture and enjoy all the fun you can have trying a new cuisine.

November Writing-image

This month the Spaces Apartments Blog is writing about writing. As many of our readers may know, November is National Novel Writing Month. It’s probably too late to start your own novel to finish by the end of the month, but this week we have a few tips to help you celebrate writing. We hope that you find some time to write a little bit this month.     Whether you consider yourself a “writer” or not, there are plenty of benefits to writing everyday. Writing can help you develop self-discipline, communicate with others, and even heal. People who write everyday have even been shown to become more creative and more confident through their writing. If you would like a full list of the benefits of writing everyday, you can visit the Huffington Post .   Once you’ve decided to start writing, then it’s time to decide what and how you’ll write. If you’ve always wanted to write a novel, then get started! Just because National Novel Writing Month is halfway over doesn’t mean that you can’t start a novel to be finished sometime by the end of this year or next year. If you’re more of a memoir or nonfiction writer, start writing your autobiography. The most important thing to remember is to keep writing.   For anyone who wants to keep a journal, just remember this: There are no rules. Keeping a journal can sometimes feel like a drag. Sometimes people feel like they have to update their journals everyday or write a certain amount every week. Write as much as you want whenever you want in whatever way you want. This will help journaling feel more natural. You can even find apps and emails dedicated to helping people preserve their memories.   If you’re not a writer at all, support other writers by reading and buying books! Visit your local bookstore here in Omaha and ask for books by local writers — this will help you support novelists and the local community.   Do you keep a regular journal? Do you have any tips for us? Leave us a comment and let us know. Thanks for reading!
